Bloomington softens its water at a centralized softening plant. This saves customers the expense of buying and maintaining a softener. Bloomington is in Hennepin County. Search county property records by address. (Owner, assessed value, property taxes, most recent sale information, map, legal description, etc.) Building permit history on homes in Bloomington is available at City Hall at 1800 W Old Shakopee Rd.
Bloomington requires that a Time of Sale Inspection report be done on all homes listed for sale. This report is NOT a buyer's inspection and often has information that is incomplete or inaccurate, however it is important to read the Time in Sale of Housing report BEFORE signing a purchase agreement.
Roger Hankey began his inspection career in 1975 with the Minneapolis Truth in Sale of Housing program. Roger was also actively involved in the 1995 development of the Bloomington Time of Sale program and its report form.
We are ASHI Certified Inspectors (ACI). Roger Hankey is a National Environmental Health Association - National Radon Proficiency Program certified Radon Measurement professional. NRPP ID 105728RT, and is licensed in Minnesota for radon measurement. See the latest StarTribune article on radon in Twin Cities homes. We have found elevated levels of radon in numerous Bloomington homes.
"Before We Speak House, We LISTEN." We include YOUR concerns in the inspection. We understand you don't buy a house often or are buying your first home. We take 3-4 hours to inspect the house. We check how the house has handled Minnesota climate stresses, look for energy efficiency opportunities, and do carbon monoxide tests.

Read ASHI® Reporter articles written by Roger Hankey, a national authority on home inspections. Roger has taught home inspection classes across the US and held many leadership positions in ASHI. He is the most senior member of ASHI in Minnesota and received the first ASHI President's award in 1989 for his leadership on the ASHI Standards. Roger also has written and reviewed articles for inspectapedia.com. Home inspection is a humbling task requiring a curiosity and mindfulness. We try to learn from each assignment and share the benefits of those lessons with you. Some of those lessons can be found on our Troubled Houses page.
